The Art of Deg-Bhapka Distillation
Deg-bhapka is not a technique. It is a commitment — to slowness, to botanical truth, to the belief that the best fragrance cannot be rushed or replicated in a laboratory.
In our Kannauj distillery, fresh flowers are loaded into copper degs each morning. Wood fires are lit. Steam rises through bamboo pipes. Aromatic vapour condenses into sandalwood oil in the bhapka receiver. This cycle repeats for fifteen to forty days before a single bottle is filled.
